Frequently asked questions

Before you book

 

  • Do I pay a deposit?

 

Yes. A deposit of £100 is payable to secure your booking. If your booking is less than 6 weeks away full payment         must be made at time of booking.

 

  • When will my balance be due?

 

Balances must be paid 6 weeks prior to your arrival unless your booking was made within that time in which case full payment must be made at time of booking.

 

  • When will I get my security deposit back?

Security deposits are returned within 1 week of departure provided that no chargeable damage has occurred during your stay. If a portion of your deposit is withheld to cover damage caused by any member of your party (including your pet) you will be informed as soon as possible. It is in your interest, therefore, to report any damage to the owners as soon as possible.

  • Can I stay for less than a week?

 

Yes. We are happy to accept bookings for part weeks (minimum stay 2 nights).  Just select the date you want to start your holiday and number of nights you wish to stay and the bookings page will calculate your total payment automatically.

 

  • Can I bring my dog?

 

Yes. We will accept one well behaved dog by appointment at a charge of £25 payable in advance. We ask that you keep your dog off the furniture and do not allow them upstairs. Please see our terms and conditions.​

 

  • Are linen and towels included?

 

Yes all bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided.

 

  • What amenities are available at the property?

 

The property is equipped with all the comforts of home including electric cooker and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, microwave, toaster and washing machine.

 

  • Do you provide cots and/or highchairs?

 

Yes we provide these at a charge of £20 per stay. Please request such items upon booking. Our cot is only suitable for babies under 2 years old, our cot bed can sleep infants up to 5 years old.

 

  • Does the cottage have disabled access?

 

Unfortunately Wood End Cottage may not be suitable for those with mobility problems due to the layout of the property which it's historic listing will not allow us to alter.  You should check carefully the property description and photographs to determine whether this property is suitable for you. We are happy to assist in your decision, please phone for advice.

 

After Booking

 

  • How do I get in to the property?

 

Once all payments have been received, you will receive all the details you require for travelling to the Cottage. Please let us know your approximate arrival time a couple of days in advance and we will meet you at the cottage with your key.

 

  • Cancelling & amending a booking

 

If you find in necessary to cancel or ammend your booking please contact us as soon as possible. Full details are contained in our terms and conditions.

 

  • What are the check-in & check-out times?

 

The cottage is available from 3pm on the first day of your holiday and must be vacated by 10am on the last day.

 

  • What if there’s a problem with the property when we get there?

 

The cottage will have been checked prior to your arrival. However, in the rare event that there is a problem, please let us know straight away and we will rectify the issue as soon as possible.

 

  • What happens if we accidentally damaged something at the property?

 

Should you accidentally damage something at the cottage when staying there, please let us know. A small amount of wear and tear is inevitable but damage to larger appliances or extensive damage may have to be paid for. Full details are contained in our terms and conditions.

 

  • Do we need to clean the property before we leave?

 

We ask you to respect the cottage and be mindful of the guests who are to stay there once you have left. You are expected to leave the property in a clean and tidy state upon departure.

  • Can  I smoke in the property?

In keeping with UK law Wood End Cottage operates a no smoking policy. If, in our opinion, cigarettes (including cigars, pipes and e-cigarettes) have been consumed inside the cottage some or all of your security deposit may be forfeit​
