A Mecca for cyclists

 

National Route 68, The Pennine Cycleway, runs right through the village making Wood End Cottage your ideal base for a cycling get-away.

In summer 2014 Yorkshire played host to the Tour de France which passed within easy reach of the cottage. The 2015 Tour De Yorkshire will pass by the cottage on one of it's more strenuous climbs making Wood End Cottage your ideal vantage point! The Pennine hills that challenged the riders are yours to explore! For the more casual cyclist there are pleasant trails along the valley through historic villages where refreshment is available at the many local inns and hostelries.
